Bali Percussion

by Miss Boss on May.03, 2009, under Music

Groups of percussion are often seen in various entertainment venues in Bali. These groups would usually mix and match few percussion instruments to create their own style of music. This percussion group that I know is called “Javaica” percussion group.

One of the members named “Tarzan” happens to be a dear friend of mine (hehehehe… nepotism rules).

For this particular gig, they combined few percussion instruments such as the “Djambe” (also known as “Djimbe”, “Djembe”), “Dumdum”, “Timbals”, the “Conga” and a “Dguoridoo”, making such an awesome music, people would dance like they are in a trance, in a jungle somewhere…. (yes, Exaggeration also rules….)

As you can see, from the instrument itself, the music made will sound a little bit Australian (from the “Dguoridoo”), a little bit African (from the “Djambe” and the “DumDum”), and a little bit Latin, a little bit Brazilian…. (You get what I mean…). To sum it up, they sound Awesome!!!

Meet my homies

by Miss Boss on Apr.23, 2009, under Bali Art Village

This is my favorite hang out place in Bali.

It’s location: Bali Village block E @ Bali Collection, Nusa Dua, Bali.

A super ‘kewl’ place with super fun peeps, art activities, music, sports and most importantly to me; lots of laughter. And best of all, no drama….(yet….. not ever, i hope)
